Alexmonhart x Porsche
In 1948, Ferry Porsche decided to fulfill his dream of creating a sports car, and with his team, he produced the Porsche 356 "No. 1" Roadster, laying the foundation for today's legend. "Seventy-five years of pioneering spirit are being celebrated together with people who are inspired by dreams," says Porsche, which is marking a significant anniversary this year and chose Alexmonhart for the celebrations.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the iconic car model, the designer created a bag, the so-called weekender bag, which was unveiled together with Vogue CS during a party at the Prague UMPRUM, where the anniversary celebrations culminated in the Czech Republic. The shape of the weekender bag reminded her of the reliability, timelessness, and philosophy of the Taycan GTS, which she herself had tested.
"I imagined a scenario where the wearer heads out for a long weekend out of town. She leaves her backpack in the hotel room and heads to dinner with just a handbag in her hand. She doesn't need anything more, everything important is with her. Versatility, symmetry, and timelessness are the values on which I based the entire design, and they perfectly connect the Porsche and Alexmonhart brands. I chose a combination of smooth and grainy structured leather in monochromatic colors so that the Weekender bag would feel both elegant and sporty – just like the interior of the car that inspired me."
